How this is counted
A filing indicates regulatory activity. It is not evidence of current field activity, a completed program, or an available contract. Nothing on this page can tell you whether a program already has its contractors, because British Columbia does not publish that.
Source: B.C.'s public Notice of Work feed, captured daily and stored per application so the history survives. BC's own feed overwrites itself. Every number here comes from one view, public.v_region_activity, and the window is the twelve months ending September 16, 2026, the date of the most recent capture, not today's date, so a stalled job cannot quietly shrink the window.
Live means a filing with status Received, Referred, Referral Complete or Approved. Withdrawn, rejected and no-permit-required filings are excluded, and so are files marked Client Delayed, which are on hold at the applicant's own request rather than waiting on the ministry. Drilling and camp counts are live filings declaring a proposed area above zero in those fields, counted over the same rows as the live total, so they are always a subset of it. Declared area is what the applicant proposed, not what has been built. Mineral and placer applications are pooled. One filing carrying an impossible submission date of 1520-11-06 is excluded rather than repaired.
The map is schematic. Bubbles sit at the mean coordinate of each region's filings and are sized by live count; they are not region boundaries, and a mine region is B.C.'s administrative boundary rather than anyone's service radius.
